Compare Welder Job Offers in the Netherlands

Match the welding work to your skills, then compare the whole package. See how three published Celoria offers differ in processes, materials, pay, hours, accommodation and commuting.

“Welder” can describe very different working days. Multi-layer steel construction, precision stainless-steel assembly and heavy machine-part welding each need a different experience profile. The highest headline figure is only useful if the work and conditions fit you.

This comparison covers three selected offers published through Celoria. Open the full descriptions and confirm current availability and written terms with a recruiter. To explore other processes and projects, use the welder jobs overview.

Start with what you can demonstrate

Choose by process, material and working style

“My strength is structural steel.”

Look at the steel-construction package if you have experience with its listed processes, multi-layer welds and positions. Check the drawing-reading and self-inspection duties as well as the welding.

Check the steel-construction requirements →

“I enjoy precise assembly work.”

Look at the TIG/MAG package if you can combine stainless-steel welding with assembling machinery from drawings. Its TIG-heavy process mix and three-year experience requirement are useful first checks.

Check the machinery-assembly requirements →

“I know heavy machine parts.”

Look at the heavy-construction package if you can demonstrate layered welding and forced-position work on black steel. Your transport arrangements also need to meet the own-transport requirement.

Check the heavy-construction requirements →

Make your experience specific. List your actual processes, materials, thicknesses, welding positions, drawing-reading and fitting duties. Send relevant certificates with their validity details. Ask whether the particular project requires a practical welding test, VCA or other site documents.

These are experienced-worker packages. A process name or certificate alone does not confirm suitability, an assessment result or a particular salary.

Keep the numbers honest

Check what the salary includes

Separate gross and net

The steel-construction and TIG/MAG offers quote net weekly pay. Heavy construction quotes a gross hourly rate with a separate approximate net indication. A guessed tax percentage will not make them comparable.

Establish the paid hours

Check the basic week, shifts, breaks and overtime rates. The heavy-construction role states 38 hours, with optional overtime up to approximately 50 hours when available. Possible overtime is not guaranteed income.

Count each cost once

The heavy-construction listing describes approximately €600–€650 net per week after accommodation, Dutch health insurance and taxes. Confirm the hours behind that illustration, and do not deduct those same charges twice.

For the other packages, ask how health insurance, housing, commuting, holiday allowance and any other charges are treated in the final written breakdown. The top of a range is not an automatic starting offer.

For broader pay context, use our welder salary guide. This page helps you compare particular packages; the figures are not a national salary average.

Check the room and its costs

The steel-construction and TIG/MAG descriptions explicitly offer free accommodation. Heavy construction provides a single room with the housing charge accounted for in its approximate net indication.

Confirm your own bedroom, shared facilities, utilities, any deposit and the accommodation address before travelling. “Private accommodation” does not automatically mean a whole apartment for your sole use.

Read the accommodation and transport guide.

Know how you will get to work

  • Steel construction: a commuting car is provided; confirm fuel and usage terms.
  • TIG/MAG assembly: your own car is preferred; agree the commute before accepting.
  • Heavy machine parts: a driving licence and own transport are required.

A travel allowance and a provided vehicle solve different problems. Check the actual room-to-work journey and any costs.

Questions to take to your recruiter

Before accepting a welding offer

  • Technical fit: processes, material, thickness, positions, fitting and drawing-reading duties.
  • Assessment: accepted certificates, any welding test, site documents, tools and PPE arrangements.
  • Pay: gross or net amount, paid hours, shifts, allowances and each deduction.
  • Housing and travel: room, costs, location, car requirements, vehicle charges and commute.
  • Contract and start: employing organisation, worksite, terms, confirmed availability and first-day arrangements.

Check your right to work for the actual opportunity. The Dutch government explains the general work-rights rules. No visa-sponsorship arrangement is confirmed by this comparison.

How we compare these packages

The three linked Celoria descriptions supply the job details. We keep different pay units, experience requirements and transport conditions visible. There is no universal winner: the right choice depends on the work you can do and the written offer you receive.

Celoria acts as a recruitment intermediary. The employing organisation assesses candidates and confirms employment terms. An enquiry or application does not guarantee selection.

Decisions before you apply

Welder job comparison FAQ

Which welder offer pays the most?

Compare the same paid hours and deduction basis first. Net weekly amounts and a gross hourly rate cannot be ranked directly. The highest end of a range may depend on experience and agreed conditions; ask for your own written offer.

Does TIG welding always pay more than MIG/MAG?

The process name alone does not establish the pay. These offers involve different materials, duties, experience and practical packages. Compare the project you qualify for and the work expected, rather than assuming one method always earns more.

Can I apply if I only use one welding process?

Check the full requirements. The steel-construction role lists 135, 136 and 138; heavy construction lists 135 and 138; the machinery role combines TIG with MAG. Explain exactly what you can do and ask the recruiter whether your experience fits the assignment.

Do all three jobs require a welding certificate?

Do not assume the same certificate rule for every project. The heavy-construction description says a certificate is an advantage and is not required for every candidate. Confirm the exact assessment for your chosen role and provide relevant certificates if you hold them.

Is VCA or a welding test included?

No universal test, VCA or training arrangement is established for these three packages. Ask what the worksite requires, whether a practical test is part of selection, who arranges it and whether there are any costs.

Does accommodation included mean accommodation is free?

Only use “free” where the actual offer states it. The steel-construction and TIG/MAG packages do; the heavy-construction net illustration accounts for accommodation costs. Confirm room arrangements and any separate charges in writing.

Which package could suit me without my own car?

The steel-construction description provides a commuting car, so check its licence, fuel and usage conditions. The TIG/MAG role prefers your own car and needs an agreed commute. Heavy construction requires a driving licence and own transport.

Is the heavy-construction net amount based on 38 hours?

The listing states a 38-hour standard week and an approximate net range that depends on hours and final conditions. It does not establish a fixed net result for every 38-hour week. Ask for the calculation behind your proposed offer, including any overtime.

Should I deduct housing and insurance from net pay again?

Only subtract charges that have not already been deducted. The heavy-construction illustration is described as after housing, health insurance and taxes. For every offer, get a clear breakdown of included deductions and separate bills before budgeting.

Can I work with English instead of Dutch?

The steel-construction and TIG/MAG descriptions mention basic or communicative English; heavy construction asks for English or Dutch. Tell the recruiter your actual level and check the language needed for instructions, drawings, safety and teamwork.

What should I include in my welding CV?

Show processes, materials, thicknesses, positions, products, drawing-reading and fitting experience. Include relevant certificates, recent work history, language level, driving licence, own transport, current location and availability. Do not claim skills you cannot demonstrate.

How do I apply for one of these offers?

Open its full vacancy description and use that job’s application route. For advice about the right package, contact a recruiter or send a general CV and name the role you want to discuss. Availability and final terms are confirmed during recruitment.
