Compare Truck Driver Job Offers in the Netherlands

A salary tells you part of the story. Compare three published driving packages by pay, working day, accommodation and practical requirements before choosing your next step.

Start with the work you can do, then compare the conditions. These packages cover general cargo, supermarket deliveries and multi-drop distribution. They are selected Celoria listings, not a ranking of every driver job in the Netherlands.

Check the full vacancy and confirm availability and written terms with a recruiter. If you are still exploring C, CE or other driving roles, start with our driver jobs overview.

The practical differences

Compare pay, hours, housing and requirements

Use the same questions for each job. “Confirm” means that a detail needs to be resolved before you accept; it does not mean a cost is zero or a benefit is guaranteed.

Pay basis and total working time are separate. A 40-hour pay basis is not a promise of a 40-hour roster. Confirm paid hours, breaks and any additional hours in the written offer. Route timings describe the working day, not continuous driving time.

Make the figures comparable

What will the complete package mean for you?

Keep the pay labels

Gross pay is before payroll deductions. Net pay is after the applicable deductions, but a quoted net amount still needs a clear explanation of which housing, insurance or other charges it includes.

Do not convert gross to net using a guessed percentage.

Check the hours behind it

Ask for the basic paid hours, expected additional hours and how allowances are calculated. Longer working weeks can produce a larger weekly figure without a higher basic hourly rate.

Possible overtime is different from guaranteed pay.

Subtract each cost once

List accommodation, health insurance, commuting and any other confirmed charges. Establish whether each one has already been deducted before working out what remains.

Leave an unknown cost unresolved rather than treating it as €0.

For the Uden package: the linked listing describes its net range as being after housing and health-insurance deductions. Do not subtract those two listed charges again. Personal spending and any other costs still need their own budget.

For a fuller introduction to the occupation, read our C and CE truck-driver guide.

A room is more than a price

Single-room accommodation means your own bedroom. It does not automatically mean a private apartment, private bathroom or free housing.

  • Confirm the rent, payment period and what is included.
  • Ask about shared facilities, utilities and any deposit.
  • Check the location and the arrangements if your assignment changes.

For Duiven, get the current housing charge confirmed before comparing your budget. Read about accommodation and transport.

Make the commute work

Paid travel expenses and a provided vehicle are different arrangements. Check how you will get from your room to the depot, especially for an early start.

  • Is your own car required?
  • Is transport arranged, and what does it cost?
  • Which journeys and expenses are reimbursed?
  • Does the plan work for weekends and late finishes?

Choose around your priorities

Which working pattern fits you?

“Weekday planning matters to me.”

Look more closely at Duiven. Check its occasional weekend requirement and the early start against your preferred routine.

“I know supermarket deliveries.”

Explore the Zaandam/Pijnacker package. Your experience with store deliveries and roll containers may be relevant; weekend flexibility still matters.

“I enjoy frequent customer stops.”

Explore Uden. Compare its multi-drop workload with your experience and communication skills, then check the full roster.

Qualifications come first. Check the correct licence category for the actual vehicle, Code 95 or any applicable exemption, driver-card requirements and your right to work. A comparison page cannot confirm individual eligibility.

Use RDW’s official Code 95 guidance and the Dutch government’s work-rights information. No visa-sponsorship offer is established by this comparison.

Take this to your recruiter

Before you accept, get these details in writing

  • Pay: amount, gross or net basis, pay period, paid hours and allowance conditions.
  • Costs: each deduction, its amount and whether it is already included in the quoted net pay.
  • Work: location, duties, roster, weekend expectations and required qualifications.
  • Housing: room, rent, shared facilities, deposit and agreement terms.
  • Travel: commute, own-car requirement, transport charges and reimbursements.
  • Contract and arrival: employing organisation, contract terms, agreed start and first-day arrangements.

How this comparison is put together

It summarises three linked Celoria job descriptions, with the stated pay units and material conditions kept separate. It does not calculate a tax result, predict your savings or declare a universal winner. Missing costs remain questions for the recruiter.

Celoria normally acts as a recruitment intermediary. The employing organisation assesses candidates and confirms the employment offer. An enquiry or application does not guarantee selection.

Package descriptions reviewed 28 October 2026. Availability and terms can change. Use the linked vacancy descriptions and confirm the final offer before travelling or committing.

Questions before your next move

Truck-driver job offer comparison FAQ

Which of these truck-driver jobs pays the most?

A fair answer needs the same pay basis, hours and deduction information for every package. Gross hourly pay cannot be ranked directly against a net weekly amount. Compare the complete written terms before choosing by pay.

Can I convert weekly pay to monthly pay?

For a time-period comparison, weekly pay multiplied by 52 and divided by 12 gives an average monthly equivalent on the same pay basis. It does not convert gross to net or predict each calendar month’s payslip. Four-week pay and monthly pay are different periods.

Does accommodation included mean accommodation is free?

No. Accommodation may be arranged as part of the package while still carrying a charge. Confirm the amount, utilities, deposit and deduction basis. A single bedroom also does not mean that every facility is private.

Should I subtract accommodation from a net salary?

Only if that charge has not already been deducted. Ask what the quoted net amount includes and check the written breakdown. Deducting the same charge twice makes a package look worse than it is.

Does a 40-hour pay basis mean I will only work 40 hours?

No. Basic-pay hours and the actual roster can differ. Check the expected working week, paid breaks, additional hours and allowance rules. The daily schedules in the comparison should be discussed alongside the pay basis.

Are overtime and weekend payments guaranteed?

Only payments supported by your agreed work and contract terms should be included in a firm budget. Ask how the applicable rates work, when they apply and whether the roster actually includes those hours. Do not assume a possible allowance will be earned every week.

Do I need my own car?

Confirm this for the specific vacancy and accommodation location. Travel reimbursement does not necessarily mean that a car or daily transport is provided. Explain to the recruiter whether you have a licence and your own vehicle.

Can I apply with a C licence instead of CE?

The licence must match the actual vehicle and role. Do not assume C and CE vacancies are interchangeable. Check the linked job’s requirements and tell the recruiter which categories and professional documents you hold.

Do I need Code 95?

Professional truck driving generally requires Code 95, with specific exemptions. Check RDW’s guidance and the actual vacancy. Do not assume that an offer comparison verifies your documents or an exemption.

Can I apply if I speak English but not Dutch?

Check the language requirement for the specific role and the level needed for planners, safety instructions and customers. Describe your actual ability when applying; a general “English-speaking jobs” search does not establish that every assignment is suitable.

Does this comparison include visa sponsorship?

No sponsorship arrangement is confirmed here. Your right to work must be checked for the specific opportunity. Read the official Dutch government guidance and discuss your situation before making travel plans.

How do I apply for a particular package?

Open its full job description and use that vacancy’s application route. For general guidance, contact a recruiter or send your CV with the role and location you are interested in. Confirm availability and final conditions during recruitment.

What if none of these packages fits?

Browse the driver jobs overview or job search. A general CV submission can explain your experience and preferences, but does not guarantee a suitable opening.
